I am so excited I have sold my first piece of jewellery! I gave some bits to my mum to try and sell for me at charity coffee morning and sale she is having on the 24th September. I hadn't given her prices cause I was still struggling with those, I felt that what I wanted to charge might be too much. Well a friend of hers came round and wanted to buy 3 of my necklaces (I only sent about 6!). Mum called me but I was on a train and there was no signal so she made the price up but only let her buy 1 in case the price was wrong.
She sold this necklace
The good news is I was thinking of asking about £16 for it but was worried it was a little high and mum sold it for £17.50! I now have confidence to charge the prices I want to. I have 3 other sales lined up in October and November all of which are opportunities which have come to me which is amazing. just need to get on and make some things now!!!
Well done. You make some very pretty polymer clay pieces so I'm not surprised they sold. I bet those blue earrings from your last post will sell. They are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThat first sale is a great feeling isn't it? Looking at the photo, I bet your customer is really pleased with her side of the bargain too!
ReplyDeleteYou've started on a new career that will help you fund your passion, well done!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! This is so wonderful. Good luck with your other sales - you have so much lovely stuff made!!
ReplyDeletecongratulations! As you discovered, sometimes it's more profitable to let someone else set the price for you! They don't have the the new seller's emotional investment in the item or the fear of asking "too much."
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! I bet it feels wonderful! This is such a beautiful necklace...good luck on future sales!
ReplyDeletethank you all! It is so nice to have people to share this type of news with. Let's hope it is indeed the first of many and I might just stick with getting my mum to price things ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Cara! You must feel so proud! (Makes me feel awesome too since the beads were made with my spliced flower cane tutorial. Beautiful job btw!) You should post this photo on our facebook/polymerclay page and tell everyone there about your success story. They would love to hear about it!
ReplyDeleteHang about - wasn't this the one I saw you wearing on Friday at Christine's thang? Must have been hard to part with it!
ReplyDeleteI sold a red and green (same colour green as mine) necklace but the design is the same as the one you saw me wearing so well spotted. The one I wore on Friday was turquoise and green to match my top with turquoise and green flowers. I wear that necklace about 4 or 5 days every week because it matches so many of my clothes. It was a fun workshop, I have just made my first batch of Pods at home.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy, I will try and do that when I have a moment.
