hi! i happened to drop by your blog, and i was surprised to see this article. I've also had the same problem with my pasta machine, so we have had it taken apart, but when we assembled it, we removed the covers so that i can see whether there are stuck clay. however, i think it was a model that can be easily disassembled and assembled from AMACO.

Wish I had read this before I destroyed hours of hard work by my 7-year old daughter. Thanks for the insight so I can do it right instead of destroying another round of Christmas presents. Don't use Staples ballpoint stick pens.

It's UK based company selling things for wood turners. I know www.polymerclay.co.uk have pen kits too, which is where this particular one came from.

I've never used kato clay but I should think that the obvious difference in strength before breaking between the slow cool and room temperature/quenched samples is most likely due to the prolonged curing in the oven.

Maybe it would make sense to cure all samples for 30 mins instead of 10 mins and repeating the test.
